Can the key to our reconciliation with nature lie in shifting our point of view? The Forest That Breathes Us transports us into a deep, immersive network of tree communications, kinship, and agency, inviting us inside the very veins of a forest’s secret life. Guided by science, indigenous knowledge, and speculative imagination, this 360° film work criticises the anthropocentric worldview by focusing on the perception of three non-human living beings: a Douglas fir, a coyote, and a humpback whale. This perspective shift makes us reconsider our sensual interactions with the world, how we measure time, space, and movement. The project asks: can we shift from viewing ourselves as apart from nature, to being one with the wider web of life?
