Women experience it every day: whistles on the street, unwanted touches on public transit, sleazy advances in bars. In this documentary VR project, you enter public spaces where these acts of sexual harassment occurred, listening to personal stories of women who only wanted to get home safely. Walking Alone, Text You When I'm Home reconstructs these moments using volumetric and photogrammetry techniques, transporting you through different environments to witness the weight of everyday fear. At times, you shift into a first-person perspective: you are the body walking, you are the one waiting for the train. The piece asks: what does it mean to feel unsafe in places that should feel ordinary, and how much of our freedom is lost when fear becomes part of the routine?
