Coffin Room

housing crisis
Hong Kong
environment

We find ourselves in a room so small that when you lie down, you barely fit along its length. This animated 360° film takes us inside the cramped home of an elderly man and his wife. From the husband’s perspective, we witness their daily struggle for dignity in a city where housing costs are so high that a home begins to feel like a coffin. Through flashback scenes, we see how his life once thrived — and how little it takes to fall from the top of the social pyramid all the way to the very bottom.
