“How do you feel this particular sensation in your body? What shape does it take? What colour is it? Is it warm or cold? Observe it for a while." Questions like these are typical of many meditation practices. The therapeutic method of body mapping, which is also embraced by the VR project Soul Paint, deals specifically with how the body and feelings are related. In this work of Sarah Ticho and Niki Smit, participants embark on a journey into the depths of their own emotions and bodily sensations. And it is an active journey - with a brush and palette in hand. Using 3D drawing, the viewers are asked to explore and creatively express their inner reality. Whatever shape, whatever colour or whatever pulsations it has.
