Sister Lin-Tou

The story of Sister Lin-Tou is a Taiwanese folklore tale which exists in various versions, but always thematizes female resilience against adversity and the desire for revenge, usually with a horror twist. Its virtual reality version of the same name delivers an abstract, dialogue-free variation on this traditional story. It takes us on a ride through the landscape of a huge female body, which is exposed in its physical vulnerability, but also invincibility. A flight over the cracked heels and body hair reveals how our bodies store past traumas and how what we often think of as imperfections can be a testament to our own strength.
