Is it possible to attain uniqueness among eight billion others? 8 Billion Selves is a flowing, dreamlike journey through a world where people “are born, work, wage war, love, dance, create art, and die,” uncovering the beauty of togetherness as well as the disturbing aspects of humanity. Sounds and imagery form a kaleidoscope that reflects both our collective presence and our individual existence. With no dialogue, the work explores our place within the crowd and the collective pull towards consumerism and body modifications, evoking a mass ornament and changes inherent to the capitalist mode of production.
