The world is falling apart faster than people would want it to, too fast for them to do anything about it. The first minutes of the film show the image of a village that has already experienced its destruction. And the blight continues to spread. There's no choice but to take refuge in the nearby forest. In the progressing heat, we can see that even the trees are not spared the threat of extinction. As we approach the oak, the ground opens up to reveal tangled roots desperately seeking water deep beneath the surface. We can only step into the unknown and hope that it will give birth to a new Bloom. A poetic film that highlights the dangers of climate change in a subtle, almost fairytale-like way.
