Once a Glacier
A poetic journey exploring the mutual relationship, care and dependence between a young indigenous girl and a glacier.
Do we need glaciers, or do glaciers need us? Once a Glacier takes us on a poetic introspective journey to explore the fragile interconnections of (indigenous) people and nature. In the story inspired by the author’s own childhood memories, the young hero reflects on her relationship to the glaciers that surround her, while trying to protect the mutual enrichment by a caring personal action. In a world where ice melts before our eyes, are we capable of paying attention before it’s too late? Or will the only ice left be the one in our fridges?
